Kathy Thornburg Jones

Kathy Thornburg Jones has been at Morgan & Thornburg, Inc. for over 23 years. She attended Ole Miss for several years and University of Memphis for 3 additional years but never could settle on a major. Having been raised in the Mechanical Contracting Business, she received the best education on the job working as an assistant to some of the best Master Plumbers in the business. She was a HVAC estimator and Plumbing Estimator for over 15 years but now devotes all her time to the management of the IT department. As the Information Technology Administrator, she manages and maintains all computers and phones for the company. Kathy’s IT skills assure everyone access to the intranet, internet and the latest updates for software and operating systems. If someone is having hardware issues, she also repairs the computers internally. Upon Kathy’s recommendation, Morgan & Thornburg, Inc. switched to Voice over IP phones recently. This allows project sites to have phone service connected to the main office alleviating the need for multiple phone numbers. One call does it all! Kathy holds the state Business licenses for Plumbing, HVAC, Mechanical and Gas for Morgan & Thornburg, Inc. and was the only female in the State of Tennessee to hold all 4 of the Trade licenses for a number of years. Married for over 19 years and the mother to two teenage boys, Kathy’s spare time is limited. She always finds time to attend her son Westley’s, 16, Varsity Wrestling Meets or Varsity Football Games or Chase’s, 13, Lacrosse games. Her boys are her pride and joy but she is awful proud of her four dogs too. She has a Weinmerainer (4), a black Teacup Poodle (2), an Apricot Teacup Poodle puppy and “the cutest dog in the world”, a Phantom Marked Tiny Teacup Poodle that is 7 months old. . Kathy’s family spends their summers on their refurbished 1988 48' Hilburn Yacht Cruiser "Parrotdise" entertaining friends and family on Pickwick Lake. She and her and her husband, Allen, enjoy taking motorcycle trips to places like Las Vegas, Colorado and Florida on their Harley a couple of times a year. Another Parrothead, you ask???”. She actually has a room in her house devoted strictly to Jimmy Buffet, Pirates and Parrots. There you will find a vintage Juke Box with what appears to be a large assortment of classic rock music. Don’t be fooled…it is all Jimmy Buffet music!!! Kathy and Allen also dream of retiring to the Carribean on a boat they will call “Parrotdise II”(Parrotdise I is just not equipped for the ocean). Maybe they’ll see Steve’s boat there??? Now that’s Margaritaville!!! “Yes I am a pirate, 200 years too late”.
